Norfolk Pamments

The business was started by Julian Burgess in his garage, twenty-two years ago. His aim was to revive the tradition of hand-making terra cotta floor tiles. The business grew over the years and became Norfolk Pamments Limited in 1998, moving to a small factory in Aslacton.

Julian decided to take things a bit easier and in October 2009 sold the business to Annie Leigh, a friend of many years, and her brother, David . Annie is an artist, and David is a Chartered Surveyor and commercial photographer. He has always had a love of traditional buildings and building materials, and has over 30 years experience as a surveyor. Julian still has a great passion for the business, and often comes in to the factory for a cup of tea and a chat.

We all place great store in the integrity of the business, and will continue the tradition of making pamments by hand. The skilled and dedicated people who make the pamments are Fiona Howes, Shaun Oakley and Steven Cantrill.

We have now moved to a larger factory in Pulham Market, which is open between 8.00am and 4.30pm from Monday to Friday, and you are more than welcome to come and visit us - please ring first. It is often possible to arrange to open up on the weekend.
