PAMMENTS OUTSIDE
For safe outdoor use, a tile should have an absorption rate of around 3%. The test for this is to weigh a tile dry, then soak it in water for 24 hours and weigh it again. The difference in pre- and post- soaking weights, divided by the dry weight (over 100) will give the absorption rate.

In the hermetically sealed conditions of Norfolk Pamments' high-tech laboratory, often likened to the NASA laboratory, more usually known as my kitchen, I did this test, with the following results:-

First a dry piece of pamment was weighed, and then it was treated with Cementone (two coats)

Then it was soaked for 24 hours

Then it was weighed again

The difference (2 grams), divided by the dry weight (176 grams/100), shows an absorption rate of just over 1%.
This means that our pamments, after treatment, are suitable for laying outside, and should survive frost conditions.
Half of this pamment was treated, the other half left untreated, water was dripped onto the pamment and the result is shown here:-
